Agreement on intellectual property co-operation in Pan-Pearl River Delta region signed
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, the Macau SAR Government and nine intellectual property (IP) offices of the Pan-Pearl River Delta (Pan-PRD) region attended the 2017 Pan-PRD IP Co-operation Joint Conference in Changsha, Hunan Province today (November 21).

he Government launched today (May 9) a consultation exercise to gauge views on the relevant provisions in the Copyright Ordinance (Cap. 528) which might need to be amended to align with the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Otherwise Print Disabled (Marrakesh Treaty)
New Copyright Tribunal Rules to take effect on May 1
The new Copyright Tribunal Rules (Cap. 528D) will take effect on May 1, 2017, enabling the Copyright Tribunal (the Tribunal) to operate in a more effective manner.
Awareness of intellectual property rights protection remains high
The Intellectual Property Department (IPD) announced today (March 31) the results of the Survey on Public Awareness of Intellectual Property Right Protection 2016. The survey has been commissioned by the IPD since 1999 to gauge public awareness of intellectual property (IP) rights protection in Hong Kong.
