2007/06/05 TaiwanA Judgment Fee Will be Incurred for Filing Administrative Lawsuits in the Future in Taiwan, the losing party will bear the judgment fee ranged from NTD1000 to 4000 for the lawsuit filed, and the judgment fee of NTD1500 to 6000 if an appeal is filed.
The amended Law of Administrative Lawsuit has been accepted by the Legislative Yuan on June 5, 2007. In the future, a judgment fee will be incurred for filing administrative lawsuits. The losing party will bear the judgment fee ranged from NTD1000 to 4000 for the filings instead of just the official fee. Moreover, the losing party will be charged one and a half of the afore-mentioned judgment fee if an appeal is filed to the Supreme Court. The judgment fees also will be applied to each examining procedure of retrials. The administrative and disciplinary perfect of the Judicial Yuan, Xiu-Zhen Kao, indicates that people tend to waste judicial resource by filing unnecessary lawsuits since they only need to pay the official fee for the filings but not the judgment fee.
